Position: Assembler - Value Add
Location : Grand Rapids (Comstock Park), MI, 49321
Essential Duties
- Work from drawings, blueprints, sketches, verbal or written instruction such as work order process sheets.
- Assemble electro-mechanical / pneumatic components as required.
- Pressure test assembled valves, pumps and other component assemblies.
- Utilize a variety handheld tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, crimpers, cutters, power and other tools as required.
- Responsible for product quality and production quantity – work must be inspected to ensure conformity to specifications and quality standards before, during, and after completion.
- Prepare finished work for shipment or storage as instructed or required.
- Maintain records and other pertinent data as instructed or required.
- Maintain area in a clean and orderly condition to facilitate manufacturing functions.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Education / Skills
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Three to five years of related electro-mechanical assembly or repair experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to use, read, and interpret drawings and measuring scale or tape proficiently.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to perform work accurately, thoroughly and in a timely manner
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
Physical Requirements
- Sit for prolonged periods at a bench or table to assemble electro-mechanical parts.
- Handling and Moving Objects — Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things
- Manual Dexterity — The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
- Finger Dexterity — The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
- Retrieving and / or filing documentation from other departments.
- Handling – moving, lifting (up to 40 lbs) parts to and from bench or cart.
