Electrical Technician

Position: ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN 

Location: Columbus, Ohio, 43219

 

  • Mechanical Skills and Abilities 
  • General mechanical knowledge 
  • Uses hand tools properly and safely.

  • Comprehends basic mechanical principles and practices. 
  • Possesses good mechanical aptitude and can apply this to daily work being performed. 
  • Electrical Skills and Abilities 
  • Basic electrical knowledge. 
  • Uses electrical safe work practices and Lock Out procedures. 
  • Applies proper electrical installation and wiring techniques. 
  • Possesses basic knowledge of electrical schematics, electrical principles, and is able to apply good equipment troubleshooting techniques to solve equipment issues. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot using an electrical multi-meter. 
  • Essential Functions 
  • Demonstrates continued growth in mechanical, electrical, and a general understanding of equipment. 
  • Demonstrates ability to grasp new concepts and continue to grow in maintenance knowledge/experience. 
  • Perform general field wiring and installation functions. 
  • Understands robotic and automated equipment and can troubleshoot problems utilizing electrical/mechanical knowledge with little to no support. 
  • Identifies and communicates problem situations/concerns. 
  • Utilizes technical resources when investigating problems or implementing new technology. 
  • Capable of constructing/modifying PLC programs with little to no support, including uploads, downloads, addressing, step circuits, and online debug. 
  • Able to prioritize workload throughout the day. 
  • Comprehensive customer interaction including, but not limited to, working with our customers to resolve and satisfy project issues and concerns. 
  • Willingness to work weekends, split shifts, daily overtime, and holidays, as needed.

Education: Completion of high school or equivalent.  Further education consisting of electrical/mechanical is desirable. 

  

Travel Required:Some work is performed on site at customer or vendor facilities.  Locations will vary based on customer requirements and location but may well involve overnight travel. Valid driver's license required. 

  

Experience:  1-3 years working in a manufacturing/production environment.
