Crimson/PPS is looking for a Shop Manager to join our team in Spartanburg, SC.

As a Shop Manager, you will be responsible for the repair and rebuild of electric motors, as well as lead a team of 8-10 technicians and motor winders.

 

As the Shop Manager, you will have the responsibility to manage the entire shop activities; including Industrial and Municipal rotating equipment (pumps, motors, etc.) repair and reconditioning.  Management of the shop leads and technicians (8-10 techs) is also required

 

What You'll Do:

  • Manage the training and development of the shop associates to include but not limited to: on-the-job training, cross-training coverage, safe work habits, and good housekeeping
  • Support ongoing development of associates by providing clear performance expectations, specific feedback on behaviors, effective coaching, mentoring, identifying, and providing developmental opportunities.
  • Identify, develop, and implement process improvements and changes in equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes supporting cost and quality efficiencies.
  • Approve time/absence reporting, attendance control, vacation planning, overtime, etc.
  • Work closely with management and Human Resources on annual reviews, pay raises, attendance, rewards, disciplinary and any other personnel issues that may arise.
  • Guide / lead / teach technicians to conduct thorough diagnostics to identify equipment and component issues/problems/root cause/proposed fixes and repair/recondition work scopes
  • Manage all shop activities to ensure all work is performed safely and correctly.  Manage the shop Quality process and ensure compliance with all OTC and Industry standards
  • Ensure the maintenance of detailed records of work performed, parts used, and other relevant information.  Utilize OTC documentation and communication tools and process (ERP, HR, QC/QA,
  • Responsible for working with Sales and Operations, at all levels.  Communicate effectively with internal and external customers to explain repair processes, provide estimates, and address any questions or concerns.
  • Other duties may be assigned.


What You'll Need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of experience in repair/service of electrical motors.
  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or leadership position.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with medium voltage, high horsepower motors.
