Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish and achieve annual budget- full responsibility for the Branch P&L
- Establish accountability metrics across all departments and teams- hold associates accountable for achievement in each respective area of the business.
- Solve problems quickly and utilize a system of "Plans of Action" and "Development Plans" to maintain consistency towards the Branch goals
- Heavy focus on driving sales, and directly manage the inside and outside sales teams' success
- Direct the efforts of Service Management to achieve key metrics for performance and efficiency
- Supports a strong, team-based culture that aligns with investment in our people, taking care of our customers and achievement of core expectations.
- Must be able to resolve both personnel and customer issues promptly and effectively- comfortable with professional confrontation and has a high level of emotional intelligence
- Clear understanding of strong cross-functional relationships and what they mean to manage a successful business.
- Develops and implements effective collaborative strategies within various departments
- Possesses a strong business acumen to make sound decisions pertaining to the needs of the business including all aspects of P&L.
- Work with the inside sales manager to ensure customer orders are entered and processed correctly and efficiently.
- Ensure customer issues are resolved promptly and effectively.
- Implement and support corporate initiatives intended to achieve the corporate mission.
- Must be willing to complete sales call as needed with your direct reports
- Manage vendor relationships pertaining to the Branch needs
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Able to identify and effectively harvest synergies related to implementing the "ONE OTC" strategy
Necessary knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Undergraduate degree in business or other technical field strongly preferred along with a minimum 5 years of sales/operations and industrial distribution branch management experience
- Previous management experience required- must fully understand and have experience with full P&L responsibility
- Skilled at presenting financial and performance data clearly and succinctly in a group setting
- Technically knowledgeable, conscientious, detail-oriented with excellent communication skills
- Experienced in accountability management- POAs, ADPs, and proper communication and follow-up
- 5+ years of relevant experience in sales, marketing or engineering.
- Mathematical ability sufficient to calculate pricing, including discounts, percentages, determine gross profit margins and other cost considerations.
- Ability to learn and use computers and relevant software, including Excel, Word & Outlook.
- Fluency in written and oral English. Ability to read parts manuals and blueprints, and to communicate technical information. Ability to prepare accurate proposals and quotations.
- Valid drivers license with driving record
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to effectively demonstrate equipment we sell.
- At times, must be able to work in an environment with possible paint and solvent odors present.
