Mechanical Engineer

Laron is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Kingman, AZ!

As a Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for performing engineering duties related to planning and designing tools, machines and other mechanically functioning equipment.

What You'll Do:
  • Design special tooling including but not limited to single or special purpose machine tools, patterns, jigs, mechanisms and other mechanically functioning equipment.
  • Design customer fixtures, parts, inventions and concepts as requested by customers, sales team representatives, managers and/or Mechanical Estimator.
  • Lead or assist in the actual drafting of plans, prints, drawings and concept work necessary for selling, demonstrating or the actual fabrication/assembly of manufactured parts.
  • Research, recommend and/or specify construction materials and special procedures required.
  • Communicate the status/needs of the work to the customer, the Field Service Manager, Planner, Quality Control and Sales Team.
  • Research, define, evaluate, install, operate and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
  • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
  • Perform as a mechanical estimator or project manager when necessary.
  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to appropriate staff.
  • Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
  • Other duties may be assigned.


What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university required; BS in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • 2+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
  • Proficient in producing drawings and working with AutoCAD and Solid Works CAD software.
  • Proficient in the preparation of DXF files.
  • Experience with quality control practices preferred, such as ASME, NQA-1 or ISO.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Windows, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook.
