Summary:

Keller Electrical Industries is looking for a skilled Millwright with welding experience for our Mechanical Services Division. While our main shop is located in Phoenix, Arizona the person who is selected for this full-time position will be working at job sites located throughout the state of Arizona.

Millwright requirements:
  • Millwright mechanic
  • Fit/Install bearings, align gears, shafts, attach motors, connect coupling and belts to precise tolerances
  • Assembly and installation of conveyor systems, equipment, and machinery
  • Repair or replace defective parts within precise limits and standards
  • Ability to use logical step-by-step procedures
  • Operate rigging equipment and perform simple to complex rigging operations
  • Mechanically minded with strong fabrication skills
  • Maintain minimum tool list


Welder requirements:
  • Stick, MIG, and TIG welding experience
  • 6G qualifications preferred
  • Identify different filler materials and uses
  • Read basic shop sketches, drawings, and blueprints
  • Read and interpret difficult isometric drawings and blueprints accurately
  • Layout and fit up components per drawings and specifications with minimal supervision
  • Strong fabrication skills
  • Pipe fit up and welding of simple and complex systems
  • Weld with all sizes of wire and electrodes
  • Set up and operate electric and engine driven welding equipment
  • Set up and operate oxygen acetylene cutting equipment
  • Set up and operate handheld plasma cutting equipment
  • Operate mobile equipment forklifts, scissor lifts and boom lifts
  • Maintain Minimum Tool List
  • Maintain personal welder PPE
  • Ability to understand and apply workplace safety procedures

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
  • Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio-hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or constant loud noise
  • Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 60%) of job
  • Work environment can involve exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment

General Requirements:
  • Demonstrates ability to supervise diverse work groups in a team environment using effective listening, coaching, training, investigative and problem-solving skills, ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment and effective time management in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision
  • Be self-sufficient, have excellent problem-solving skills, and work efficiently with a high level accuracy of accuracy
  • Computer literate with experience using e-mail and word processing applications (Microsoft Office).
  • Be willing to travel to different locations throughout Arizona and the Southwest
  • To work overtime as projects and jobs require
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • MSHA certification a plus
  • Have a professional demeanor and the ability to work with others.
  • MUST POSESS clean MVR, valid driver's license, and reliable transportation
  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
  • Min 5yrs experience required
