Rotating Equipment Specialist
Responsibilities
- Work with shop supervisor for equipment inspection and repair assessments
- On-site inspection and testing of customer's equipment
- Serve as lead representative for installation and commissioning of repaired equipment
- Vibration data collection and analysis utilizing the latest technologies
- Data collection and reporting utilizing infrared thermography and motor test equipment
- Perform laser alignments, collect vibration data and balance rotating equipment (Rotalign and/or CSI)
- Field work performing on-site alignment and balancing functions
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues relating to rotating equipment
- Communicating with Customers while providing solutions and recommendations
- Remove and install mechanical equipment relating to bearings, fans, shafts, gearboxes, motors and any rotating equipment
- Provide reports and documentation of work performed
- Perform other duties as required
Skills Required
- Must be certified as a Level I or higher Vibration Analyst with intent to continue to become Level II or higher
- Minimum of 3 years' hands-on repair/rebuild experience with industrial rotating equipment
- Proven experience with precision rotating shaft alignments, field balancing and troubleshooting of rotating apparatus
- Demonstrate familiarity performing alignment between motors and shafts.
- Demonstrate knowledge of vibration analysis, Level I or II preferred
- Demonstrate knowledge of MS Suite, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Familiarity with Rotalign, Optalign and CSI-2140 is highly desirable
- Prepare detailed machinery condition assessment reports, review with customers and make recommendations for other preventative maintenance
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license (DOT approved highly desirable)
- Ability to complete required safety training classes and comply with OSHA, MSHA or any authority having jurisdiction
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Must be willing to work overtime or on call to satisfy customer requests
- Able to travel to other locations for temporary assignments, meetings, and training involving some overnight travel required.
