Job Description
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for executing and coordinating the daily operations of the accounting department. This includes assisting with monthly and annual close activities, the annual audit, and special projects as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily and monthly accounting activities (e.g., recording journal entries and GL account reconciliations).
- Assist in the preparation and review of management's monthly variance analysis and summarize financial results vs. historical periods and forecast.
- Assist in the preparation of annual financial reports including the balance sheets, income statement, cash flow statement and supporting information.
- Assist with the identification and implementation of process and control improvements.
- Assist with the implementation and optimization of accounting tools and special projects.
- Field and resolve inquiries from management and the external auditors.
- Coach and provide leadership for staff accountants.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Certified Public Accountant (preferred)
- 3-6 years of experience in public and/or corporate accounting
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively
- Strong organizational / time management skills and ability to prioritize
