JOB DESCRIPTION

JCI Industries is seeking a positive, reliable, self-motivated team player to assist the logistics team in the picking, filling and delivering of equipment throughout the Midwest.

The Warehouse Generalist position responsibilities are receiving products in the warehouse, selecting orders as well as loading LTL and full truckload shipments. Correctly label product so that the label can be seen on the outside of the pallet. Maintain each delivery and properly communicate the shipping company used along with its tracking numbers. Unload containers that have multiple crates and pallets, locating them in the correct bin. Safely operates power material handling equipment to accurately select, palletize, stage and load customer orders for delivery without any damage or errors. May be assigned to other tasks associated with the warehouse operation as needed.

In addition, this position will also serve as backup company driver in which responsibilities will be to coordinate workload to meet customer requirements while achieving optimum productivity and safety. Work closely with other company personnel to meet or exceed customer expectations. The Delivery Driver is a key individual who interacts with customers and must provide a competent and personable representation of the company. The driver delivers and picks up orders and goods in a timely and safe manner facilitate the success of the entire organization and ensure our final customer satisfaction and accomplishment of the company goals.

Essential Job Functions
  • Communicate effectively with the Branch Manager, the sales team, and the production team, informing and updating them regularly to guarantee that the sales and customer objectives are met
  • Follow systems and procedures outlined in the company manuals
  • Participate as a key player in the production team by supporting operations as needed
  • Receive replenishment orders and stock the warehouse
  • Pick various orders as directed by the pick tickets
  • Load LTL and Truckload shipments
  • Coordinate with the production team to schedule daily deliveries and pick ups
  • Remain flexible to restructure schedule as needed
  • Drive vehicle to and from destinations, adhering to all traffic laws
  • Comply with all OSHA safety requirements
  • Maintain vehicle in good working condition and inform supervisor of any vehicle problems
  • Abide by all company safety policies as well as state and federal transportation regulations
  • Occasionally operate powered industrial vehicles such as forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
  • Carry out pre-shift checks of equipment
  • Schedule shipments for delivery
  • Breakdown and restack merchandise from pallets during random audits
  • Verify quantity of the products
  • Ensure items are picked accurately and safely to prevent injury or damage
  • Responsible for variation of all outgoing and incoming products for accuracy in terms of size, amount, and type
  • Keep work area tidy by picking up scrap wood, paper, plastic wrappers and broken pallets


Requirements
  • High school education or GED equivalent
  • Must have a positive and upbeat attitude, even in heavy traffic and unusual driving conditions
  • Must be hard working and self-motivated
  • Must have excellent verbal and communication skills, including good customer service abilities
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Order selecting experience a plus
  • Must be able to lift up to 60lbs
  • Familiar with surrounding area and be able to read a map/guide
  • Requires knowledge of vehicle maintenance and operation
  • Excellent motor vehicle driving record, skills and knowledge of traffic laws
  • Possess a valid Class E driver's license or be able to obtain one within 3 months of hire
